Welcome USA Truck Drivers

My name is Ralph Haile and my handle is “Ridin’ with Pride”. Would you believe I’m an astronaut ? How about an international spy? I’m trying to come up with a more believable story than”I’ve been driving for USA Truck since 1992″. When I say that to my fellow drivers I get looks that tell me they’d sooner believe the astronaut or spy story. Why is driver turnover so high? Okay I see that a bunch of your hands just shot up. That’s good because that and other driver related topics, stories, information, questions and the like are what I want us to explore with this blog. USA Truck has stated that one of their key goals for 2011 is to get team member retention up to 60%. Still a low number but it would be an impressive accomplishment  in the truckload carrier world. I know some world renowned experts on reducing driver turnover amongst USA Truck drivers. The USA Truck drivers themselves. So lets talk about it. But first a few ground rules:
1) Own your stuff. Every comment, idea , story or question submitted for posting must include your name and truck #. I plan to share our ideas with the company and this will insure that credit is given where credit is due.
2) Keep it clean. Keep it professional. That doesn’t mean I plan on being Miss Manners. The sorts of phrases  that often come up in frank discussions between truck drivers
like”cover your ass” or “pissing contest ” will be allowed but mindless abuse of
others or the english language will not.
3) Keep it real. Drivers who wish to discuss ideas, ask questions, air concerns and help develop some realistic solutions to the very real challenges we drivers face every day while keeping in mind the realities of the truckload business landscape will find a happy home here. Welcome
